The most advanced cancer treatment is now available in Solano County.

IMRT is an advanced form of 3D radiotherapy that delivers higher doses of conformal radiation to the tumor while minimizing collateral damage.

Under the direction of a radiation oncologist, the IMRT effectively varies the shape and intensity of the radiotherapy beams according to the prescribed treatment plan. With the help of sophisticated software and a high-speed computer, the beams are aimed at the tumor from multiple angles using a complex series of motions. As a result, the radiation beams actually “bend” around healthy tissue.
